Screen NSW is pleased to welcome producer and screen executive Margaret Ross as the newest member of the Screen and Digital Games Industries Advisory Committee.
Margaret Ross is a Dunghutti and Gumbaynggirr woman and investment and development executive with more than 15 years’ experience across Australia’s screen, digital and arts sectors. Her career spans commissioning, production, investment and strategy, with leadership roles at Creative Australia, Screen Australia and the ABC.
Having worked across scripted, factual, children's and online, Margaret has supported creators and organisations to develop bold, culturally resonant work and sustainable business models. She has led investment in digital and interactive projects, shaped funding strategy, and championed pathways for First Nations storytellers and emerging practitioners.
Margaret holds a Master of Arts in Screen Business from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, and is currently completing her Executive MBA at the University of Sydney, focused on strategy, innovation and future-facing creative industries. She brings a strong commitment to equity, innovation and sector development, with a particular interest in how diversity in screen and games can drive cultural, social and economic impact.
The Screen and Digital Games Industries Advisory Committee, which was established in 2025 to replace the Film and Television Industry Advisory Committee, advises the Minister for the Arts and Secretary of the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport on the strategic direction and funding allocations of programs administered by Screen NSW for the screen and digital games industries, as well as on spaces and production locations.
Screen NSW acknowledges and thanks outgoing member Gillian Moody for her contribution to the Committee during her tenure.
