Deborah Huxley
Deborah Huxley is the Content & Commissioning Director for Disney+ Australia and NZ and has 25 years' experience working in the television and entertainment industry. She will celebrate 10 years with The Walt Disney Company later this year and played a critical role in the launch of Disney+ in November 2019 and bringing general entertainment to Disney+ via the Star tile (now branded Hulu) launched in February 2021.
On commissioning front for Disney+, Deb and her team have worked with formidable Australian producers bringing to the Disney+ platform a slate of home-grown Originals and acquisitions which includes Scripted drama series The Clearing, The Artful Dodger and Last Days of the Space Age; Documentaries Matildas: The World at Our Feet, Shipwreck Hunters Australia (Seasons 1 and 2), Chasing Waves, Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW; and Lifestyle and Factual general entertainment series with Donna Hay, including Donna Hay Christmas and Donna Hay Coastal Celebrations.
Latest offerings Donna Hay Coastal Celebrations and The Artful Dodger Season 2 are streaming on Disney+ in 2026.
Prior to the launch of Disney+, Deb worked in Disney’s distribution business selling content from Disney’s brands including ABC Studios, Freeform, Disney, Pixar, Marvel & Lucasfilm to local and global platforms for the ANZ region.
Deborah was also a content buyer for subscription television networks, holding senior acquisition roles at FOXTEL for 10 years working across The LifeStyle Channel, LifeStyle Food, Fox 8, Arena, The History Channel, Crime & Investigation and The Comedy Channel. She was instrumental in securing the original formats for successful Australian brands such as Selling Houses Australia and Grand Designs Australia and for re-introducing the Amazing Race Australia brand for Network 10.
