Production is underway in Sydney on Greyhound 2, the sequel to Academy Award-nominated WWII drama Greyhound, with support from Screen NSW’s Made in NSW Fund.

The Apple Original Film, which stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Stephen Graham alongside Tom Hanks, who also wrote the screenplay, is estimated to contribute over $100 million to the state’s economy and set to create 500 local jobs.

The next chapter in the Greyhound saga follows Captain Krause and the Greyhound crew from the beaches of Normandy to the Pacific Ocean as they help turn the tide of the war. The sequel will see Graham reprise his role as ‘Charlie Cole.’ Hailing from Apple Studios, Greyhound 2 reunites Hanks and Graham with director Aaron Schneider and producer Gary Goetzman. Greyhound is a Playtone production. Post, digital and visual effects will also be undertaken in NSW, with support from Screen NSW’s Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Rebate.

Greyhound 2 is among many notable screen projects to recently undergo production in the state, with support from the Made in NSW Fund. Large scale productions which have called NSW home include 20th Century Studio’s Send Help, directed by Sam Raimi and starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’BrienDisney+’s Australian Original series The Artful Dodger, Netflix’s Apex, starring Charlize Theron, Taron Edgerton and Eric Bana and Legendary Pictures Street Fighter, which is due for release in cinemas later in 2026.
