NSW Government is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to establish a second global film studio in Sydney, paving the way for more international and local screen projects in the state.
Registrations for the EOI are now open.
As part of the three-year NSW Screen & Digital Games Strategy, the NSW Government committed to meeting demand for production spaces through enhanced infrastructure.
The NSW Government’s $100 million capital investment will provide industry the opportunity to partner with government to deliver a second film studio, ensuring NSW remains the filming destination of choice in the southern hemisphere.
The EOI will be open to proposals on both private and government owned land. To support the process, three government owned sites have been identified that respondents may consider when preparing a proposal. These sites are located in Bungarribee, Eastern Creek and Prospect.
EOI submissions will be evaluated against the NSW Government’s objectives to strengthen capacity, attract international blockbusters, support local production, create local jobs, and ensure NSW remains the nation’s screen powerhouse.
Business and consortia with demonstrated experience establishing and operating major film studios and other large commercial projects can register below.
